Thermal Energy International’s heat recovery system has helped St. George’s Healthcare NHS Trust to reduce carbon emissions and energy costs. Thermal Energy International’s Flue Gas Condensing Economisers provide the trust with a heat recovery solution for use on its heating and hot water system.
The St. George’s heat recovery project is calculated by Thermal Energy to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 2,800 tonnes a year and reduce energy consumption by approximately 15 million KWhrs annually. The important project will help St. George’s Hospital Trust towards the key targets of reducing carbon emissions by 80% by the year 2050 now set by the UK government.
Thermal Energy has worked closely with the NHS over the last three years to develop a number of energy saving and emission reducing projects for both its Flue Gas Condensing Economiser and its GEM venturi orifice steam traps. This was the sixth heat recovery collaboration project between a NHS Trust and Thermal Energy International. Thermal Energy estimates that collectively these six projects are expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 7,300 tonnes annually and reduce energy consumption by approximately 36 million kW annually.
