After reducing its carbon footprint two years running, Fascia Graphics is now making a further investment in smart energy saving technology, which will slash its energy costs and carbon footprint at its Chippenham based factory by a third.
Fascia’s working with SMARTech energy, specialists in helping businesses to develop cost effective strategies to reduce their energy consumption and carbon footprint. Following a SMARTech energy management survey, it was identified that Fascia Graphics could save over a third of its energy costs by introducing four different SMART energy optimising technologies which includes installing LED lighting throughout its factory.
The ECO-MAX Voltage Optimiser will not only carefully reduce supply voltage, which results in immediate quantifiable energy savings – the reduced voltage is also kinder to electrical equipment onsite, reducing stresses caused by excessive heat and vibration – making equipment last longer. The Optimised LED lighting solution will include zoned controlled sensors, and by switching to LED lighting and implementing Voltage Optimisation the power quality across the site will be improved as well a reduction in ampage.
Ernie Griffin, co-founder and financial director of Fascia Graphics said:
“Our £1m plus investment in the latest technology over the last two year’s was the first step in reducing our carbon footprint. The SMARTech energy management survey was a real eye opener for us, and the energy savings solutions proposed are going to make a huge difference to both our environmental credentials and ongoing business costs.”
Stuart Pearce, managing director from SMARTech energy said:
“Working with Fascia Graphics is an absolute pleasure. They have a refreshing approach in their focus to continually improve the efficiency of their working environment. As a forward thinking organisation we are delighted to be supporting them.”
The four phase energy optimisation solution includes:
1. Voltage Optimisation
Voltage Optimisation will be fitted to the main incoming power supply so that Fascia will improve power quality and achieve a saving of at least 11.5% of its energy use across the site.
2. LED lighting with zoned controlled sensors
Replacing all the lighting throughout the facility will improve the light quality, reduce maintenance and save 77% of the current lighting costs.
3. Motor optimisation
Optimising the motors provides an opportunity to reduce the amount of energy the larger motors use by up to 35%.
4. Air conditioning optimisation
Although some of Fascia’s air conditioning systems have optimisation built into them by way of inverters, an additional solution will be installed so that a further 20% in energy savings can be achieved.
Ernie Griffin, concluded:
“As Fascia continues to grow it is vitally important to continue our investment into the business, and the latest energy saving technology is a major part of making us one of the most efficient and green manufacturers in the industry.”
