For nVent Electric, a global electrical company providing connection and protection solutions for the sustainable and electrified world, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) has been of critical importance since its founding. nVent focuses its ESG efforts in three areas – People, Products and Planet. The Company has made meaningful progress across these pillars, as detailed in its 2022 ESG Report.
In its People pillar, nVent increased the diverse representation of its employee population— including the representation of women in management globally, and racially diverse professional employees in the United States. In addition, nVent has continued to build on its programs to develop, recognize and support its employees.
In its Products pillar, nVent continued to build on its efforts to deliver innovative products that make a positive impact in one or more of its three ESG categories: Eco-Friendly Materials, Eco-Friendly Designs and End-User Safety. 76% of the products in its new product pipeline at the end of 2022 met at least one of these criteria. The company also made progress toward its goal of increasing the digital accessibility of product environmental data for its customers.
In its Planet pillar, nVent reduced its CO2e emissions by 7% relative to 2021 and increased its renewable energy consumption to 13% of its total energy. nVent remains focused on environmental stewardship —achieving its 2030 Planet goals, investing in renewable energy, reducing water consumption and reducing and diverting waste. Efforts across the company will continue as nVent seeks to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for the electrified world and do its part to combat global climate change.
At nVent, good governance sets the foundation for success. Its governance practices include robust employee training on ethics and compliance and the nVent code of conduct, responsible sourcing practices and a continued focus on Absolute Integrity—one of the company’s core values.
