AMPYR Distributed Energy (ADE) has acquired a 70MW portfolio of operational commercial and industrial solar assets from TotalEnergies, marking a major milestone in the company’s European growth strategy.

The acquisition comprises 17 operational solar assets across Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, the UK and Iberia, increasing ADE’s total contracted capacity to over 250MW. The assets include a mix of ground-mounted, rooftop and floating solar installations, all supported by long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with established corporate customers.

John Behan, Chief Executive Officer of ADE, said, “This is a strategic launchpad for AMPYR Distributed Energy’s pan-European vision, placing us among the leading players in multiple countries.  We’re also excited to onboard a floating solar farm in Belgium as part of the transaction, Europe’s largest floating solar project dedicated to industrial self-consumption.

“Most importantly, it expands our ability to support businesses with multi-site, multi-country energy strategies – giving customers a single, trusted partner to fund, own and operate onsite renewable energy across Europe.

“At a time when European businesses are facing some of the highest energy prices in the world, onsite energy has never been more important. It gives organisations greater cost certainty, improved energy resilience and a practical way to reduce emissions, and we’re now even better placed to deliver that at scale and at pace.”
