Believ has completed the installation of ultra-rapid EV charging at a new commercial development on Riverside Way in Rotherham, in partnership with Primesite Group.

The site, which was made operational on 30th April, delivers eight ultra-rapid chargers providing drivers with reliable, high-speed charging at one of the town’s most prominent new commercial destinations.

All charge points are fully accessible, and the installation complies with the British Standards PAS 1899 guidelines that detail the space, layout, and ease of use required to ensure that people with diverse accessibility needs can access public charging without barriers or restrictions.

Located adjacent to the newly developed Starbucks and just off the Ickles Roundabout, the site is convenient for both local drivers and those travelling through the region; seeing more than 40,000 vehicles pass per day. Plans for the site include offices and retail outlets.

Fully funded by Believ, the project has enabled Primesite Group to integrate future-proofed EV charging into its new development without operational burden or capital expenditure. The CPO is providing an end-to-end delivery model, covering site assessment, grid connection, installation, operation and long-term maintenance.

Craig Butler, Property Director at Believ, says the site reflects the growing demand for high-quality charging in high-traffic commercial locations: “Riverside Way is a prime example of how new developments are integrating EV infrastructure from the very start. With its prominent location, footfall and proximity to major routes, it is an ideal location for ultra-rapid charging and will play an important role in supporting current and future EV drivers across Rotherham and the wider South Yorkshire region.”

The installation of EV charge points is a core component of Primesite’s wider sustainability commitments, ensuring the site achieves its ESG and planning requirements, while offering accessible charging options for customers, visitors and the surrounding community.
