British Gas has announced Fixed Solar Saver, an energy proposition designed to help small and medium-sized businesses lower their energy bills by up to 20% on average, improve sustainability performance and gain greater certainty over future energy costs, without any upfront investment.
Launching as a pilot in partnership with HDM Energy, Fixed Solar Saver combines on-site solar generation and battery storage with a fixed-price British Gas electricity tariff.
Through a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), HDM Energy funds, designs, installs, owns and maintains the solar panels and battery storage system, while British Gas provides a simple, fixed-price, fully renewable Fixed Solar Saver tariff. Customers pay a single fixed electricity rate for all the power they use, whether generated on site or imported from the grid, removing the complexity often associated with solar energy.
