With the average annual energy bill will rise to £1,849 from April, with Ofgem’s third consecutive increase in energy price cap, David Nicholl, Chairman of Butterfly, said:
“Households will feel the pinch with this latest energy price hike. For many, this third price hike will push them into the red. And, whilst fixing tariffs can provide certainty over winter fuel costs, this isn’t a sustainable position.
“This isn’t just about higher bills; it’s a symptom of ill health of the wider energy market. Ongoing geopolitical uncertainty is still putting pressure on the global energy infrastructure. This domestic price increase should also be a wake-up call for commercial and industrial businesses to shift their focus to sustainable energy sources.”
“A move to sustainable energy isn’t just better for the planet, it’s essential for keeping our businesses and communities running effectively. The sun has a lot to offer us. Solar systems can reduce electricity expenses by 30-40% compared to traditional grid power. And the payback period is now 3-5 years on the initial capital investment.”
