Daikin, alongside Centrica, SSE Energy Solutions and Sustainable Building Services, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the West Yorkshire Combined Authority to help create a greener, more secure future for the region.
According to the MoU signed by the Mayor and the four firms, the Partnership will support the delivery of high quality jobs and skills training, warmer and more affordable homes, and the roll out of more sustainable power, to accelerate the region’s transition to net zero by 2038.
Daikin will launch at least three Sustainable Home Centres across West Yorkshire. These will allow residents and businesses to learn more about green technologies that could reduce their energy consumption and bills. They will also train installers, giving them the skills that they need to install heat pumps.
Hiroyasu Ishikawa, Managing Director of Daikin UK, said: “Daikin has been really impressed by the scale of ambition shown by the authority. We look forward to opening at least three Sustainable Home Centres in the region. These will help people and businesses learn about how they can reduce their home’s carbon footprint as well as giving installers the skills they need to secure well-paid, stable jobs.”
This is a significant step toward building a cleaner, greener future for everyone in West Yorkshire, and Daikin is honoured to play it’s part in delivering WYCA’s plans.
