Fuse Energy has announced it is bringing its AI compute in-house, built on NVIDIA infrastructure, extending the same vertically integrated approach that has defined its energy business.
Fuse is moving its customer-facing AI onto its own systems, using open-weight models running on NVIDIA hardware to power outcome-driven AI agents. This is the first live use case in a collaboration that will see Fuse run its current and future AI workloads on NVIDIA as its compute provider of choice.
Unlike traditional suppliers, which typically outsource generation, trading and retail, Fuse has built its entire energy value chain in-house – from solar and wind generation through to trading and direct supply. This structure has enabled the company to deliver efficiency gains of around 17% over legacy providers, helping keep customer prices low even through periods of wholesale market volatility.
That same in-house approach now extends to Fuse’s AI infrastructure. Fuse is app-first by design, giving customers 24/7 support without the hold queues and call centre transfers typical of legacy suppliers. Its customer AI, which handles support within the app, currently runs on a closed-source setup with 99% customer satisfaction and an 80% self-containment rate, meaning four in five queries are resolved without escalation to a human agent. Fuse expects the migration to open-weight models and in-house compute to maintain this high level of performance.
“We built Fuse on one simple principle: own the stack, control the cost and deliver cheaper, abundant energy for everyone. Now we’re betting our AI future on that same principle,” said Alan Chang, CEO and Co-Founder of Fuse Energy. “Working with NVIDIA gives us the flexibility to run AI workloads on our own terms, on infrastructure we control, as we continue to scale at pace. We’re tackling the problems incumbents have failed to solve for decades and directly translating that into better value for our customers.”
“Fuse has built its business around controlling costs and delivering value across the entire energy chain, from source to socket. By combining that deep energy expertise with NVIDIA’s accelerated computing and open-weight models, Fuse is building intelligenceAI into the foundations of its operations – from customer-facing agents to complex decisions around demand, renewable output and market volatility,” said Santhosh Gopinath, MD Energy EMEA, NVIDIA.
The news comes as Fuse continues a rapid growth run. In June, the company reported group-level profitability just three years after launching publicly. It now supplies low-cost energy to over 450,000 UK households.
