Excalibur Energy, a UK specialist in optimising resilience and energy savings for air-conditioning, critical cooling and refrigeration systems, has been awarded preferred supplier status by facilities management giant Mitie for energy saving projects relating to refrigeration and cooling in a range of client facilities.

In many buildings mechanical cooling accounts for the single largest energy cost, in some instances as much as 30%. With over 30 years’ experience, Excalibur provides consultancy, performance analysis and measurement with state-of-the-art retro-fit solutions to improve chiller efficiency without wholesale replacement, delivering tangible energy savings and improved resilience.

Bespoke solutions are based on a combination of the latest high-efficiency EC fans, inverter controls, Liquid Pressure Amplification (LPA) with advanced condenser cleaning regimes and other technologies. Excalibur typically reduces energy consumption by 25-30%.

The company joins Mitie’s preferred supplier programme following a number of key projects during which the company has supported Mitie Technical Facilities Management in delivering significant energy savings to a range of clients businesses including datacentres, banks, NHS sites and call centres.

Steve Jeffers, Energy BDM for Mitie Technical Facilities Management said: “Reducing our client’s energy bills is a major focus for us and Excalibur has supported us as sub-contractor across a number of energy reduction projects over the last 18 months. With this type of business, you keep going back to Excalibur as they are the experts in this area and the work they complete and the manner in which they do it is of the highest quality. Their preferred supplier status at Mitie is well deserved.”

Excalibur Energy recently launched its Chiller Check programme to support ESOS consultants and a new 360 Degree Service to support the wider facilities management community to identify cost effective energy saving projects.

Gareth Holden, managing director, Excalibur Energy commented: “We are delighted to be working with Mitie as a preferred supplier, and with some 20 projects already completed, we are looking forward to delivering further energy improvement projects with other Mitie business divisions.”
