Navitron – one of the UK’s suppliers and installers of renewable technology – has signed an agreement with SunEdison, the world’s largest renewable energy developing company, to become a SunEdison installation partner in the UK.

As a result of the partnership, Navitron will commercialise and install SunEdison’s Energy Saver Plan, which allows homeowners to save up to 15% on energy bills without upfront investment thanks to a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).

Mark Babcock, vice president of SunEdison Residential and Commercial Europe, commented: “We are glad to incorporate Navitron to our network of partners in the UK. They have a proven track record of delivering high quality, professionally installed renewable energy systems and will be a key partner in spreading our new Energy Saver Plan, which represents a step-change that will improve access to solar for UK homeowners.

“To simplify the process of going solar, we’ve removed the biggest barrier – the upfront purchase cost. This means that, from day one, customers can save money. We anticipate high demand for this low-cost way to save money immediately. ”

Available to homeowners across the country that are hesitant or unable to invest thousands of pounds into a solar PV system, SunEdison’s Energy Saver Plan offers proprietors the opportunity to significantly reduce electricity bills by purchasing the energy generated from their newly-installed panels instead of from the grid.

As part of the partnership with SunEdison, Navitron will be tasked with designing solar PV systems, specifying the correct components and performing follow-up maintenance over the life of the PV system.

Stephen Knight, commercial director for Navitron, said: “We couldn’t be happier about working with SunEdison on their Energy Saver Plan solution.

“Purchasing a solar PV system is a fantastic long-term investment for homeowners that can afford the upfront cost – however, this isn’t always a practical option. Many UK homeowners haven’t installed panels on their home, not because they don’t want to, but because they just can’t afford the initial spend.

“Luckily, SunEdison recognises that the sun is a resource that should be at everyone’s fingertips, so are offering those with roof space on their house the chance to harness the power of the sun to reduce their environmental impact and their monthly bills.”

By granting SunEdison the right to access the roof of their home and allowing the installation, homeowners can significantly lower the amount of energy being purchased from the grid through their utility company, instead purchasing the energy generated by their newly-installed panels from SunEdison directly – reducing electricity bills by up to 15% each year.

Other benefits of SunEdison’s Energy Saver Plan include:

·       £0 upfront payment and £0 upfront installation cost

·       Up to 15% savings on existing electricity bills

·       Reassurance of a 20-year performance guarantee

·       Hedge against rising energy prices

·       Power their home with clean, solar energy

·       Improve the EPC rating of their home, which may increase its value
