4 mediumTo assist Facilities Management companies to reach their customers’ energy efficiency targets, Excalibur Energy, specialists in optimising energy efficiency and resilience for air-conditioning, critical cooling and refrigeration systems, has announced its new FM 360 degree service. The service is designed to ensure FM companies can pro-actively reduce their customers’ carbon emissions by identifying the best economic energy efficiency projects to implement and unviable ones to avoid.

Excalibur Energy, which has worked with FM organisations, has a strong track record in improving cooling efficiency and overcoming resilience issues, often reducing energy consumption by 30%.

As part of the new 360 degree service, Excalibur will estimate potential energy savings that could be achieved through retrofit solutions, and present technical information clearly for FM companies to insert into their own reports; advise when savings are not economically viable and, using their 30 years’ experience, accurately predict ROI.

The Excalibur 360 Degree report can be utilised within an ESOS energy audit as a means to identify projects to improve air conditioning efficiency.

The full service comprises advice on equipment that is likely to be cost effective; identification of maintenance issues that may affect efficiency; undertaking an initial desktop survey to provide a proposal with a budget price and potential cost reduction. If economical, Excalibur will visit site to provide a full fixed price proposal, to include equipment specification, accurate energy analysis showing existing energy consumption and projected energy reduction. The resulting report will identify if there is a major opportunity to reduce energy consumption and the return on investment to achieve it.

The full service requires a 360 degree survey questionnaire to be completed, Excalibur will then undertake an initial desktop study to provide a budget proposal and energy analysis identifying the potential cost reduction. If economical, Excalibur will then visit site to provide a full fixed price proposal, to include equipment specification, accurate energy analysis showing existing energy consumption and projected energy reduction. The report will identify major opportunities to reduce energy consumption and the return on investment to achieve it.

If implemented, Excalibur’s team will perform pre and post monitoring to validate the energy reduction, installation will be delivered by Excalibur’s fully qualified staff including training, warranties and all necessary certification.

Gareth Holden, MD of Excalibur Energy said: “Given the results we’ve seen and the feedback received, we believe we can add real value to help facilities managers reduce both their clients’ energy spend and carbon emissions.”
