Bristol City Leap, a groundbreaking collaboration between Bristol City Council and Ameresco, has announced plans to submit a planning application for a solar farm on a site owned by the Council. This project, located to the south of Hersey Gardens Road in south Bristol, will have a capacity of 1.3 Megawatts, generating clean energy to power the equivalent of 506 homes annually, thereby improving air quality and promoting sustainable energy solutions.
As the second solar site plans launched this year from the Bristol City Leap partnership, this initiative marks another crucial advancement in Bristol’s efforts to meet its decarbonisation goals while enhancing the city’s renewable energy framework. By lowering carbon emissions, these solar projects are set to play a significant role in Bristol’s sustainable future.
