The Renewable Energy Association (REA) has added its support to Energy 2015, the brand new event for the energy industry taking place at UK Construction Week this October.
Joining as event partner, the REA will lend its considerable industry insight and expertise to the show’s packed seminar programme – offering a real chance for visitors to learn more about the growing number of business opportunities presented by the renewable energy sector.
Empowered by its members, with a mission to grow the clean energy economy by bringing renewables into the mainstream, the REA is the only UK trade body that represents the full range of renewable technologies across all applications. With this goal in mind, the REA undertakes extensive policy development work and provides input to government departments, agencies and regulators, as well as working closely with NGOs and other key organisations.
Drawing on this significant experience, the REA will provide valuable input into the seminar programme at the Energy Hub. Ray Noble, the UK’s leading solar PV expert, will lead two sessions on first day, focusing on the pathway to grid parity for solar and an update on energy storage. On the second day, Nina Skorupska will also lead a seminar session on The Future of Renewables.
Dr Nina Skorupska, CEO at the REA commented: “It’s a critical period for the renewables sector at the moment, with the Renewable Heat Incentive due to come to an end in April next year. As an organisation, we’ve been campaigning strongly to achieve the legislative and regulatory security the industry needs and events like Energy 2015 at UK Construction Week are a vital way of boosting that momentum, by bringing key stakeholders together to share knowledge and best practice.”
Combining nine shows under one roof, UK Construction Week will be the biggest construction trade event the UK has seen in years. Taking place at the Birmingham NEC from 6th – 11th October (with the trade only days from 6th – 8th October) the event will unite 1,000 exhibitors with an expected audience of 55,000 visitors.
Visitors will be able to attend Grand Designs Live, the Build Show incorporating Civils Expo, Timber Expo, the Surface and Materials Show, Energy 2015, Kitchens & Bathroom Live, Plant & Machinery Live, HVAC 2015 and Smart Buildings 2015.
Nathan Garnett, UK Construction Week show director commented: “The REA is one of the most respected names in the energy sector and with a strong focus on helping its members build commercially and environmentally sustainable businesses. This chimes perfectly with our aim at UK Construction Week of championing and supporting growth in the construction industry as a whole, so we’re really pleased to welcome the REA on board.”
