STORTEC Engineering has won a major order to design and build digesters and a hydrolysis tank for a new food-waste-to-energy facility in Australia.

STORTEC’s Ultrastore stainless steel tanks offer extended asset life whilst supporting a sustainable approach, with over 85% of the content being recycled material.

The 4000m3 digesters will be fitted with Landia’s externally-mounted GasMix mixing system, which has been a proven success for an AD site near Perth in Western Australia.

For the hydrolysis tank, STORTEC has selected the Landia JetMix system (with specially configured jetting nozzles), which will be employed for food waste with dissolved solids (DS) of 16% and a pH of 5-8.

Matt Dickinson, STORTEC’s Managing Director, said: “This important new order demonstrates the increasing demand worldwide for our innovative and sustainable solutions. STORTEC’s model enables us to operate as a design and manufacturing partner, turnkey 360-degree solution provider and principal contractor. Throughout each approach, we ensure that we partner closely with our supply chain to deliver at the highest level.”

He added: “Our customers demand the best, low-maintenance equipment to comprehensively mix their tanks, so we have every confidence in supplying these new units with pumps and mixers from Landia.”
