Despite the UK’s solar PV industry being amongst the largest solar markets in the world, there are still challenges to be faced – namely how to maintain a strong market in the face of declining subsidies. This is just one of the issues that will be addressed at June’s Solar Future, UK conference
Moving forward, the UK solar industry will need new thinking and adopt business models that don’t depend on Feed-in-Tariff subsidies. Which businesses are prepared for this? Which suppliers can offer products and services that are viable without subsidies? Will this be an opportunity for more experienced companies from outside of the UK to enter the market?
Large scale PV projects will once again be viable – but when and how? What can the UK learn from countries like Germany, which is aiming to install 50GW of solar PV by 2020?
The Solar Future, UK conference, on 26th June, presents an opportunity for decision makers within the solar industry to come together to take stock of events and discuss the strategic measures needed to develop a sustainable future for solar energy in the UK. Speakers at the conference include Edwin Koot, chief executive of Solarplaza, Ray Noble of the Solar Trade Association, Jeremy Leggett of Solarcentury, and experts from Germany including Anton Milner, managing director at ib Vogt.
Taking place at Central Hall, Westminster, Solar Future, UK is the third annual conference organised by Solarplaza and is supported by the British Photovoltaic Association (BPVA).
At the conference delegates will be able to hear views and predictions from industry experts, gain experience from European colleagues, better understand where the real solar PV opportunities lie in the UK market, discuss which long term business models will be successful, understand the trends and forecasts for the UK market, and network with solar entrepreneurs, investors and manufacturers.
