Tom Kent joins the team as Engineering Manager with 16 years of experience working previously for Kittiwake, Vestas and most recently Centrica, where he was responsible for the long term health and reliability of almost 500MW of both on and off-shore wind assets. While at Centrica he also managed the entire end of warranty campaign for one of the world’s largest offshore wind farms and gained valuable experience in the maintenance of wind turbines and innovation in this area. Tom is a chartered engineer with experience in design, testing and project management, combined with his passion for the wind industry Tom is the ideal choice for advantEDGE.

advantEDGE is a new innovative and revolutionary product which repairs and protects wind turbines against leading edge erosion (LEE), an issue which causes turbines to require regular costly and time consuming repairs. Scottish based company TRAC have developed an innovative long-term product and procedure which addresses issues facing wind farm owners and maintenance companies. The process is carried out using either an automated or manual system to install highly durable prefabricated modular erosion shields which will deliver full operational life protection. This eliminates further repairs, which minimises the turbine downtime and ensures maximum operational protection for the future to optimise ROI.
Demonstrations for potential customers and interest parties are ongoing in the UK with further field demonstrations planned for the coming months across Europe.
