WEG has been named Supplier of the Year at the 2026 Pump Industry Awards, organised by the British Pump Manufacturers Association (BPMA).
This marks the second consecutive year that WEG UK has received the prestigious Supplier of the Year title, reinforcing its position as a leader in energy efficiency, sustainability and technical innovation. The awards were held at The Hilton at St. George’s Park, Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, UK, on Thursday 19 March 2026.
The award recognises WEG’s ability to deliver integrated, system-level solutions, supported by responsive customer service and strong supply capabilities, helping it stand out in a competitive market. It was collected by WEG UK’s Gustavo da Silva, managing director, and Andrew Glover, product & business development manager. The award was presented alongside six-time snooker world champion Steve Davis OBE, who was the special guest speaker at the event.

“Winning Supplier of the Year for the second year running reflects our continued investment in developing a broad portfolio of energy-efficient technologies and services for pumping applications,” said Marek Lukaszczyk, marketing manager for the UK and the Middle East at WEG. “By combining motors, drives and digital control systems, we help customers improve performance, reliability and sustainability, supported by strong partnerships and local expertise.”
These capabilities are supported by a portfolio of technologies designed to improve pump system performance and energy efficiency across a wide range of applications. For instance, WEG’s W23 Sync+ range continues to set benchmarks in efficiency and performance, while helping customers reduce environmental impact.
Meanwhile, the W80 AXgen motor introduces axial flux technology, offering a compact and highly efficient option for OEMs. With efficiency levels of up to 96.9 per cent, it enables improved performance while reducing system size, costs and carbon footprint.
In addition to product innovation, WEG continues to expand its global manufacturing capabilities. The recently inaugurated facility in Santo Tirso, Portugal, strengthens production capacity and enhances supply chain responsiveness across Europe, helping customers benefit from faster delivery and local expertise.
Sustainability remains central to WEG’s strategy. The company recently became the first in the world to develop a fully pre-verified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) tool for electric motors. Verified by EPD International AB, the “WEG EcoHub Version 1.0” enables the generation of standardised, transparent lifecycle data in compliance with ISO 14025.
“Our EPD tool represents a major step forward in transparency and sustainability,” continued Lukaszczyk. “It enables customers to make more informed decisions while supporting efforts to reduce environmental impact across the product lifecycle.”
WEG already holds certified EPDs for several motor lines, including W22, W51HD and W23 Sync+, highlighting its ongoing commitment to environmentally responsible technologies.
WEG’s technologies support a wide range of water and wastewater applications, including desalination, distribution, treatment and industrial processes, helping customers optimise performance and reduce energy consumption.
“This recognition reflects the real-world impact of what we do: helping customers meet increasingly demanding efficiency and sustainability targets. By combining technology with application expertise and local support, we’re able to deliver measurable improvements in day-to-day operations,” added Lukaszczyk.
