5 mediumBosch Commercial and Industrial Heating has launched a GB Commercial Plate Heat Exchanger designed to allow its range of GB boilers to be fitted to an open-vented system.

Designed to ensure boiler water and system water never directly meet, the GB commercial plate heat exchanger offers long term protection for the boiler; ultimately maximising running hours whilst minimising potential downtime and improving efficiency. The heat exchanger allows the boiler installation to be under a sealed system configuration whilst allowing existing and quite often older heating systems to remain under a lower pressure open vent arrangement, therefore not exerting the system to the higher pressure and potential system leaks etc.

Each GB Plate Heat Exchanger has been sized to match the output of every possible combination of single or cascade GB boiler installation (65kW to 1,240kW), ensuring compatibility with corresponding pump group flow rates. This allows a more efficient transfer of heat whilst ensuring existing pumps can be used in retrofit installations.

The Plate Heat Exchanger is supplied with tailor-made insulation in order to minimise heat losses and is also fully compatible with Bosch’s range of commercial controls, to ensure the boiler is operating at optimum levels of modulation via feedback from flow temperature sensors.

The launch of Bosch’s GB Plate Heat Exchanger enhances its leading GB range of pre-mix commercial boilers, which are whisper quiet, compact, and provide reliable and efficient heating performance. This makes them the perfect choice for medium-large buildings, office blocks and commercial buildings.

Geoff Hobbs, business development director at Bosch Commercial and Industrial Heating, commented: “The launch of our heat exchanger means we’re able to guarantee the performance of our boilers for longer whilst enhancing efficiencies.

“Our GB boiler range has been a hugely popular choice amongst consultants, contractors, and engineers for a number of years, but we’re always looking for opportunities to continually improve our product range. The launch of a new heat exchanger will certainly improve what is already an extremely versatile and efficient commercial boiler portfolio.”
