Magnus Walker, Head of Energy Trading, Government Procurement Service is today confirmed as headline speaker at The Energy Event (www.theenergyevent.com/) 2013. The Energy Event, organised by i2i Events, is dedicated to energy management, efficiency and procurement, the event is free to attend and takes place at the NEC in Birmingham from 10 to 11 September 2013.

Magnus Walker is responsible for managing the procurement of energy in the commodity markets on behalf of all UK Central Government departments, as well as public sector entities, local authorities, health trusts and other public organisations across the UK. Speaking in The Energy Insight Theatre Mr Walker will take part in a panel session about hedging against volatility, a topic hot on the government’s agenda with George Osborne’s recent pledge for a ‘dash for gas’.

Many other inspirational and policy leading speakers will also appear at The Energy Event, including Edward Davey, Minister for Energy and Climate Change, Rosie Boycott, Journalist and media commentator and Dieter Helm, Professor of Energy Policy at Oxford’s New College.
