The Winter edition of Energy Management is now available to read in digital format.

Occupying several column inches in recent weeks, the government’s Energy Bill provoked a fairly mixed reaction from within industry. While some offered their support, others claimed that the bill fails to provide a clear framework for a successful future, and that the prime minister’s commitment to be the ‘greenest government ever’ has been compromised by pushing any decision on a target for decarbonising electricity until after the next election.

Furthermore, the government’s flagship Green Deal scheme is also fast approaching but that too still seems to be mired in confusion with many sceptics claiming that the installer or consumer will struggle to know for sure if they are in fact saving more on their energy bills than the cost of the measures installed.

So, as we embark on a new year, it seems that the issues of 12 months ago still remain, with most people still imploring the government for clarity and transparency within the energy sector – one can only hope that in 2013, they take notice, and take action.

In this Winter issue, we take a look at combined heat & power, waste management, compressed air, energy monitoring, green energy. We also preview the Ecobuild event taking place at the London ExCel in March
