Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, has launched a brand new dedicated BIM section on its website.

In response to the Government’s BIM strategy in which it requires collaborative 3D BIM on its projects of £5m and over by 2016, the BIM area housed on the Schneider Electric website will provide its customers with the best up-to-date data to make specifying products easy.

With a number of offers in a variety of 2D and 3D formats, the website incorporates the vast and ever-growing range of Schneider Electric products and will be regularly updated as new models and objects are added. The website will allow architects, engineers and contractors to design a virtual building using the actual manufacturer’s products long before their project breaks ground.

Gary Buckingham, product and segment marketing manager at Schneider Electric said: “BIM usage is growing rapidly in the UK and major consultants are already using BIM to design live projects. As a business, it’s important we understand BIM and are ready to support our customers in their BIM journey. We’ve therefore developed this brand new BIM zone on our website which will meet the changing needs of our clients.”
